Si ICE viene, llame immediatamente a YARR al (831) 239-4289.

If you see ICE, immediately call YARR at: (831) 239-4289.

Your Allied Rapid Response is working to resist and prevent actions that would harm our fellow human beings. We intend to resist, support and bear witness for any of our community who are under attack, whether by federal policies or by
 hate groups.

In Santa Cruz we’ve already faced swastikas painted on the levee, ICE storming our neighborhoods and taking people from their homes, and schools facing periodic mass absences when immigrant families panic. We can strengthen our community when we act in solidarity with one another. We are an all volunteer action-oriented community group preparing to protect our community.

In repressive times acts of kindness become courageous, and standing up for your neighbor is standing up for yourself.

“First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Socialist.
Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Trade Unionist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.”

Martin Niemöller (1892–1984) was a prominent Protestant pastor who emerged as an outspoken public foe of Adolf Hitler and spent the last seven years of Nazi rule in concentration camps.  The quotation stems from Niemöller’s lectures during the early postwar period. Different versions of the quotation exist. These can be attributed to the fact that Niemöller spoke extemporaneously and in a number of settings.
